The Location

Lake Taupo is in the centre of the North Island, just a 1hr flight from Auckland or Wellington. Renowned for it's beautiful clear fresh waters & outdoor lifestyle, it's mother nature at her finest. The area is full of natural geothermal activity, which means that as well as the lake there are plenty of hot springs and geothermal hot pools for swimming. There's something magical about this place.

We'll be staying at The Waitahanui Lodge, a 10 minute drive from the town centre. Situated right on the lakefront, the lodge has 5 self contained classic kiwi cabins with twin rooms and doubles. Cabins will be shared with one or two others, with shared toilet and bathroom facilities. So get a group of friends together and share a cabin! Earlybirds will be booked into the lakefront cabins. If you have a cabin preference please let us know. For more information about the Waitahanui Lodge, including photos and cabin layouts view The Waitahanui Lodge website.
